George Hatfield
George Hatfield, who
has over 15 years of experience in raising award quality
Cymbidium orchids, owns and operates Hatfield Orchids,
which is fortunate enough to be located in Ventura
County, an ideal climate for the propagation of
Cymbidium orchids. Hatfield Orchids specialize in
Cymbidium orchid seedlings and AOS & CSA award-winning
plants. It is an operation of family and friends with a
passion for orchids.
George is active in
the Cymbidium Society of America and the American Orchid
Society, as well as several Southern California regional
orchid organizations. George is an accredited orchid
judge for both the CSA and AOS, and is currently the
Chairman of the Santa Barbara judging region for the
CSA. George is also a past-president of the CSA and was
the Chairman of the CSA Cymbidium Congress from
1998-2001 and president of the Santa Barbara
International Orchid Show in 2002 & 2003. He has held
many distinguished positions in the orchid community.
George Hatfield has
published articles in the American Orchid Society Awards
Quarterly and the Cymbidium Society of America CSA
Journal. George is an orchid judge for both the CSA and
AOS, and is currently the Chairman of the Santa Barbara
judging region for the CSA. George’s primary interest
is in hybridizing Cymbidiums. In 2006, he won the Grand
Champion Cymbidium of Show Award at the Santa Barbara
Orchid Show with his stunningly beautiful George Formby
x Red Beauty. |
