Cultural Secrets of Award Winning Growers

Catherine Lee

Catherine Lee lives in Los Angeles, and is currently a resident ceramist at the UCLA Esthetic Dentistry program. She has a bachelor's degree in biology and art, and has worked as a molecular biologist, biology teacher, and pastry cook.

Her interest in orchids was sparked when she attended the East West Orchid Show at the New Otani Hotel about 15 years ago - it was a very special birthday outing. Her interests are cattleyas, brachy paphs, and neofinetia hybrids.  She also has an interest in macro algae and carnivorous plants. She has served numerous positions at most of LA's orchid clubs and was an accredited AOS judge.

The
Raffle Plant Table will be purchased from Ms. Lee. All plants are blooming size, plus there are assorted Tillandsias (for fun! and to keep the orchids company!)  and sphagnum moss and #3 perlite.

Among the plants that she will bring are the following:
Phrag caudatum, Pot. Little Toshie, Bc Star Ruby 'Xanadu' AM, Rhy gigantea 'alba', Lc Gold Digger 'Orchid Jungle', Sc Fairyland, Paph. St. Albans, Paph. armeniacum, Brassia longissima, Aerangis modesta
